Intraoperative Care
- Administering Anesthesia: Providing general, regional, or local anesthesia to ensure patients do not feel pain during surgery.
- Monitoring Vital Signs: Continuously monitoring patients’ heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and other vital signs to ensure stability during the procedure.
- Managing Anesthesia Levels: Adjusting anesthesia levels as needed to maintain the appropriate depth of anesthesia throughout the surgery.
Postoperative Care
- Recovery Monitoring: Overseeing patients as they wake up from anesthesia, ensuring they regain consciousness safely and managing any immediate postoperative pain.
- Pain Management: Providing pain relief and managing any complications related to anesthesia, such as nausea or respiratory issues.
Additional Responsibilities
- Critical Care: Assisting in critical care units, managing pain relief, and providing support in emergency situations.
